Dr. Bob Smith is a management consultant in public policy and management in Melbourne. He is an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at Monash University (Monash Asia Institute) and an Adjunct Professor at RMIT University (School of Management). He is a National Fellow of the Institute of Public Administration Australia. He has held public service positions in the 1980s and 1990s in Queensland and Victoria. He holds MA (Adelaide 1965) and Ph.D. (ANU 1970) degrees in political science. He has taught graduate units in public policy, policy analysis and e-government. His current research includes agendas for reform of federal arrangements in India and Australia. He has authored many books and papers, including How do international pressures affect federal governance in India, in Lance Brennan and Auriol Weigold (eds.), Re-thinking India: Perceptions from Australia, New Delhi, Readworthy Press, 2013.
